The Name of the game

Color Dance. The music plays and the kids dance, but when the music stops the teacher calls out a color and they have to find something in the room that color and touch it. The last person is out.

The music plays and they're all dancing, Zoe's dad comes in the room and decides to sit and let her finish the game. The next color called is Brown. The kids start scrambling to find something brown. Zoe, yelling, "brown, Brown, Something Brown!" runs past her dad with an amazing realization. She yells out "YOUR EYES!!" and without thinking about what she was doing, stuck both her fingers right into her dad's eyes.

I haven't laughed that hard in a while. It seemed like a classic three stooges moment.

The Letter of the Week... "O"

During the week we have a letter that we focus on for the kids to learn. This last week it was "O". We do words that start with "O" and learn to write the letter "O" and have cooking and art projects that start with the letter "O". Etc.

While working on an art project:

Benz: "Hey Aiden, what are you making?"

Aiden: "Miss Melanie said they were "Off the Wall Octogons" (this was appropriately named because we just gave them odds and ends of everything to glue onto their octogons)

Aiden: "She said they were off the wall Octogons but really they are going to be on the wall octogons so our mommies and daddies can see them."

Out of the Blue

So right in the middle of snack time, with no previous convesation leading up to it...

Sophia: "Miss Naomi, I have to tell you, I have a looky-lady"

Miss Naomi: "a what?"

Sophia: "A looky-lady"

Miss Naomi: "I'm not sure what that is, honey. Is it a toy"

Sophia: "no... it's a... looky-lady"

Miss Naomi: " but I'm not sure what a 'looky-lady' is, can you tell me what it looks like?"

Sophia: "It's a baby guitar"

I couldn't help but laugh. I explained how to properly pronounce ukelele.

The NEW Lingo

Miss Kelly: Whatever (in response to some comment made to her)

Sophia: "Miss Kelly, we don't say "whatever" anymore... now we say "What-ev"

Just wanted to keep you all updated on the newest lingo out there. This told to us by a 4 year old.

Attitude? I think so.

New Kid Quote

As the kids were making their beds for nap time, I sat down and blew into my water bottle to make that really low pitched whistle sound. Madison comes up to me and says

"Wow, how did you do that!?"

Miss Naomi: "Like this" (blows into bottle again)

Madison: "It sounds like a train"

Miss Naomi: "You're right, it kinda does"... "or maybe a boat"

Madison" "hmm..." "ya" (said in a very matter of fact voice) "we'll go with that one" ::as she walks back over to her bed to finish making it.::

(remember this is a 4 year old) I laughed and made her come back over so I could give her a hug. These kids crack me up sometimes.
